Background

COLINAGRO was formerly organized on January 4, 1946 as a Limited Corporation.  The purpose of the partnership was to represent national and foreign commercial firms producing agricultural and cattle breeding products and goods, such as fumigators, fertilizers and, in general, any product intended to benefit agriculture.   Over the time and with the help of the technological transference of the firms it represented, COLINAGRO began to formulate and produce its own products.

COLINAGRO was the first Colombian firm to approach “Integral Vegetable Nutrition”, when it proposed the use of the so-called “Micro Nutrients in Fertilization” to agriculturists, both by foliar way (leaves) and by the root system.

The Company has always been present at the side of Colombian agriculturists, meeting their needs both for the traditional and the technology-based crops.  It has also assisted the cattle-breeding sector providing fertilizers for prairies and for the improvement of cutting pastures, offering products for every type of crop bearing in mind the soil deficiencies and nutritional requirements.

At present, COLINAGRO covers the markets of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Central America and the Caribbean.

COLINAGRO C.P. S.A. – our production plant

Strategically located in the northern part of the Cauca Department, at only 20 minutes from the city of Cali and at less than three hours’ drive to the Pacific sea port of Buenaventura, the firm COLINAGRO C.P. S.A., was organized in 1997.  The construction of the plant started in 1999 and on May 2000 it began to operate with the production of Liquid and Solid Fertilizers.
